I’m sort of obsessed with this idea of simply hanging a variety of different shapes and colors together to spread holiday cheer in a non traditional way, like this ornamental cluster. I especially like the little flourishes of sparkle and shine that brighten up any space.

Hand painted, vintage ornaments are simply gorgeous. You can find ones like these anywhere on Etsy or Ebay. They add a bit of nostalgia to your tree, or great just strung up in a cluster. I’m also really loving the starburst, atomic style for the retro lover at heart.

I found this handcrafted Christmas mobile made from plywood and felt,  on the design site, Puka Puka. In Japanese, puka puka means “an object gently floating in space”. So cute! You can also custom build your own personalized hanging mobile.

I cannot express just how much I love this Alexander Girard nativity set from House Industries.  I also came across these amazing greeting cards, also from Girard, exclusively made for Lagom.  Girard’s designs are genius; a true Modernist’s dream.

Three words: Eames Paper Collection. I found it on the DIY site, The New Domestic, which they used as baby shower wrappings. Neenah Paper, in collaboration with the Eames office, created quite a mouth watering collection that can be ordered on their website.

When I was a kid, my gingerbread houses were never like this. They were usually held together by copious amounts of frosting. This amazing project is the Cake Study 09 in Los Angeles from the architectural firm, Kristina Hahn Atelier. The “eco-gingerbread chic” home is made from building materials without artificial food coloring, such as banana succulents, almond cacti, marshmallow chairs, and a chewing gum pool. Wow, truly remarkable!
